B Meets
Lake Braddock is a member of a B-League with Burke Station, Camelot, Holmes Run, Parliament, and Woodley. B meets are held on Monday evenings and provide ALL swimmers the opportunity to swim with other NVSL teams in the area. Five B meets are held each season.
B meets consist of the same events in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly as the A meets.
B meets do not have relay events, but can include the individual medley (IM) if time allows and both teams agree. The IM is a 100-meter event composed of 25 meters of each of the four individual strokes in the order of fly, back, breast, free.
There are no limitations to the number of swimmers that can sign up for a B meet and most events will have multiple heats. In a B Meet, each swimmer may choose to enter up to two events plus the individual medley (IM).The only restriction is that a swimmer cannot swim an event if they placed first, second, or third in that same event at the most recent A meet.
While B meets can serve as an opportunity for a swimmer to try a new event for the first time, we ask that swimmers do not enter into events they know they are not yet legal in. If you have questions about which events your swimmer should sign up for, please speak with a coach after practice.
All Monday B meets start at 6:00 pm unless otherwise announced. The home team warm-up from 5-5:20pm and the visiting team warm-up is 5:20-5:40pm. Because of the number of swimmers participating, B meets can run 3 hours.
Swimmers declare availability and select events for B meets through Swimtopia. Event entries are due by noon on the day of the meet.
